physiotherapy leicester

Mark has been a physiotherapist since 1996 when he gained his BSc (Hons) from Brunel University in London and became a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. During his time in the capital he worked for the NHS at Northwick Park Hospital, where he became a senior therapist, and then at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where he worked with some of the top specialists in the country. He also practiced within the private sector and was involved with projects for the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society and the National Osteoporosis Society. Upon returning to Leicester Mark maintained his involvement in private practice by working with a number of semi-professional rugby clubs, whilst continuing full time within the NHS, taking up the post of senior physiotherapist in Sports Medicine and developing a specialist interest in leg injuries. In 2003 he left this position to set up Body Works with his wife Theresa. Email mark@thebodyworks.co.uk.

Theresa also gained her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Brunel University, graduating with a 1st and becoming Chartered in 1996. Like Mark she has a wealth of experience working as a senior therapist both within the NHS and the private sector. Before becoming a physiotherapist Theresa was a professional dancer, having trained at Elmhurst School of Ballet and Laine Theatre Arts College. It was during this time that she first became aware of the rehabilitation benefits of Pilates, as well as its ability to enhance athletic performance. Now herself a fully trained and certified Pilates practitioner, Theresa represents that rare combination of theoretical knowledge and practical ability which combine to the benefit of all her clients.
