About Body Works

Theresa gained her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Brunel University, graduating with a 1st in 1996. She has a wealth of experience working in the NHS as a senior musculoskeletal therapist at Northwick Park Hospital, London and then at the Leicester General. Her extensive private sector experience includes working within Bupa hospital Bushey and Harrow School prior to setting up Body Works in 2003.  She has been involved with working for the National Osteoporosis Society and National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society.  Theresa specialises in all aspects of musculoskeletal physiotherapy but has a particular interest of working with clients who have chonic pain or longstanding mobility and spinal problems, dancers and gymnasts, paediatrics and anti and post-natal musculoskeletal problems. Before becoming a physiotherapist Theresa was a professional dancer, having trained at Elmhurst School of Ballet and Laine Theatre Arts College. She re-trained to be a physiotherapist after a spinal injury caused her to retire from professional dancing.  It was during her time as a dancer that she first became aware of the rehabilitation benefits of Pilates, as well as its ability to enhance athletic performance. Theresa became a certified mat based and rehabilitation Pilates practitioner in 2003, subsequently she has become a certified anti-natal and post-natal instructor. She runs mat based classes for beginners, rehabilitation and improvers and also runs private or small group studio sessions at the clinic for more specific rehabilitation or sports/dance related exercise goals.  Email info@thebodyworks.co.ukTheresa Bell (BSc (Hons), MCSP, AACP, Certified Pilates rehab and mat practitioner, Memb HPC).
